Abstract: Distribution power networks are very complex, due to the great number nodes, short distances, and small amplitude and phase angle differences between nodes, faster dynamics and lack of standard documentation. Thus, these complexities have raised the need to develop new Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) called Micro-Phasor Measurement Unit (μPMU) with high accuracy and high precision. In this work, several estimation techniques have been investigated so far for improving effectiveness and accuracy of this micro-PMU.
