Abstract: The adoption of financial technology was unequal in poor nations owing to factors including limited digital literacy and regulatory uncertainty. To fill in the gaps in our understanding of fintech adoption in developing nations, this research systematically reviewed the relevant literature in order to consolidate current information, identify critical drivers and obstacles, and draw attention to these issues. Using information retrieved from Scopus/WOS, 763 papers were evaluated using PRISMA methodology in conjunction with VOSViewer. The first is about technological innovations and stability of financial systems; the second relates to digital transformation and performance of banks; the third is about financial inclusion and growth of economy; the fourth is about consumer behaviour and adoption models; and the fifth relates to digital financial literacy and sustainable behaviour. It was discovered that the role of the technology developments, organizational strategy and behavioural as well as institutional aspects contributed to fintech acceptance.
