Abstract: In recent years, the world has experienced numerous crises that have had serious consequences for the functioning of the global economy and have directly affected the energy sector. To ensure energy stability in the country, it is crucial to maintain energy infrastructure in good condition at all times. Die-casting foundries play a key role in ensuring the continuity of energy production, making them a strategic sector. This article aims to identify and evaluate inventory management strategies in die-casting foundries in Poland, with particular attention to crisis periods. The study shows that during crises, companies in the energy sector more frequently adopt defensive inventory management strategies, which allow for the continuity of production but are associated with higher costs. The results indicate the need for more flexible inventory management strategies and increased cooperation within purchasing groups, especially among SMEs.
