Abstract: Objective: This study examines the current state of manufacturing industry insurance programs in Sudan, with a particular emphasis on the role of effective decision-making. Methods: A quantitative research design, combined with a descriptive-analytic approach, was employed to conduct the study in Khartoum state. The data were collected from statistical records of a comprehensive industrial survey conducted in 2001. SPSS has been used to apply the chi-square test between the variables. Results: 51% of participants indicated that policy direction is made from time to time; however, 38% of respondents believed that no risk management policy has been implemented in the manufacturing enterprise. 53% of the respondents stated that their enterprises used statistical methods in deciding risk transfer; however, there is a need to introduce more statistical techniques for the risk managers. Conclusion: Enhanced risk management strategies are needed to be introduced in Sudan for effective decision-making in manufacturing industry insurance programs.
