Abstract: The study of short-circuit processes in ship power systems (SPS) is a necessary stage in their design.
It is regulated by the requirements of ship registers, and the results of the study are used to examine the stability
of SPS operation and to check the protection of ship electrical equipment. The article presents a software system
implemented in the MATLAB environment, which allows modelling and simulation of transient processes in such
systems. Short circuits were simulated in different places of the examined system, and part of the experimental
results obtained are presented.
