Abstract: Relevance of the work reflects the increased use in practice of variable frequency electric drive
additional options, which include sine-wave filter. It is shown that due to the presence of a gain band in the
Bode magnitude diagram of a sine-wave filter, some undesirable voltage harmonics are amplified regardless of
the choice of parameters. Designs of magnetic cores of inductors in the filter are recommended, which help
suppress not only differential-mode, but common-mode components of voltage and current too.
