Computer Interface for Remote Teleoperated Mobile Robot Based on LabVIEW and Open Source Hardware

Abstract: A remote controlled mobile robot utilizing National Instruments LabVIEW software, communicating
over a low-rate serial ISM radio link. The robot is modular in design with system modules connected via serial
interfaces to a system controller. A custom power supply and distribution circuit board provides power to the
robot using sealed lead acid batteries as the source. The mobile robot streams system voltage and current status,
JPEG images, ambient temperature and humidity readings, and GPS location. The project demonstrates the
successful use of LabVIEW to develop a system using communication over lowrate serial radio links.
