Linking Ethical Leadership to Work Engagement: The Effects of Person–Group Fit and Person–Job Fit
Authors: , ,
Abstract: The study of ethical leadership involving corporate leaders has gained importance in recent years. This research investigated the link between ethical leadership and performance using data from the medical center in Taiwan. Drawing on person–environment fit theory, we examined the mediating roles of person–group fit and person–job fit in the relationship between ethical leadership and work engagement. A convenience sampling was used to collect 447 valid questionnaires, and structural equation modeling was used for analysis and testing. Results revealed that ethical leadership is positively related to work engagement. Further, P–G fit and P–J fit mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and work engagement. Finally, implications for theory and practice are discussed.
