Influence of Heavy Gas Blowing into the Wall Layer of the Supersonic Boundary-Layer on its Transition
Authors: , , , , , ,
Abstract: The experimental investigation of the influence of the distributed blowing of heavy gas (sulfur hexafluoride, SF6) into the wall layer of a supersonic boundary layer on a flat plate (at free stream Mach number M=2) on the laminar-turbulent transition have been performed. It is shown experimentally for the first time that in case of such blowing there is the boundary layer stabilization, and the laminar-turbulent transition is removed downstream from the model leading edge.
