The literature review provides an overview of previous studies on wage differentiation, the current situation of wage differentiation in the EU, and the potential determinants and consequences of wage differentiation. The analysis shows that many potential variables influence wages and that direct modeling is problematic. However, the application of factor analysis led to the identification of significant factors, namely the economic strength of a country, the level of digitalization and working conditions, investment, and the unemployment rate. These findings are consistent with the existing literature. The robustness analysis of the results is provided. The conclusion offers recommendations for increasing wages based on the research results.
<publication_date media_type="online"><month>11</month><day>15</day><year>2024</year></publication_date><publication_date media_type="print"><month>11</month><day>15</day><year>2024</year></publication_date><pages><first_page>2203</first_page><last_page>2218</last_page></pages><publisher_item><item_number item_number_type="article_number">181</item_number></publisher_item><ai:program xmlns:ai="http://www.crossref.org/AccessIndicators.xsd" name="AccessIndicators"><ai:free_to_read start_date="2024-11-15"/><ai:license_ref applies_to="am" start_date="2024-11-15">https://wseas.com/journals/bae/2024/d705107-051(2024).pdf</ai:license_ref></ai:program><archive_locations><archive name="Portico"/></archive_locations><doi_data><doi>10.37394/23207.2024.21.181</doi><resource>https://wseas.com/journals/bae/2024/d705107-051(2024).pdf</resource></doi_data><citation_list><citation key="ref0"><doi>10.2139/ssrn.3047147</doi><unstructured_citation>Drahokoupil, J. & Piasna, A., What drives wage gaps in Europe?, ETUI Research Paper – Working Paper 2017.04., 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.3047147 </unstructured_citation></citation><citation key="ref1"><doi>10.32614/cran.package.eurostat</doi><unstructured_citation>Eurostat, Eurostat database, 2024, [Online]. https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/data/database (Accessed Date: October 25, 2024). </unstructured_citation></citation><citation key="ref2"><unstructured_citation>Mincer, J., Schooling, Experience, and Earnings, 1st Ed.
