We can show a statistically significant effect of the minimum wage on consumption, in a negative direction. For Eastern European countries, the short-term effect of minimum wage growth on consumption is positive, but in the long term, the overall effect is negative. The results of the paper are supported by the outputs of other authors on the effects of minimum wages on employment and consumer prices.
<publication_date media_type="online"><month>6</month><day>27</day><year>2024</year></publication_date><publication_date media_type="print"><month>6</month><day>27</day><year>2024</year></publication_date><pages><first_page>1511</first_page><last_page>1522</last_page></pages><publisher_item><item_number item_number_type="article_number">123</item_number></publisher_item><ai:program xmlns:ai="http://www.crossref.org/AccessIndicators.xsd" name="AccessIndicators"><ai:free_to_read start_date="2024-06-27"/><ai:license_ref applies_to="am" start_date="2024-06-27">https://wseas.com/journals/bae/2024/c525107-028(2024).pdf</ai:license_ref></ai:program><archive_locations><archive name="Portico"/></archive_locations><doi_data><doi>10.37394/23207.2024.21.123</doi><resource>https://wseas.com/journals/bae/2024/c525107-028(2024).pdf</resource></doi_data><citation_list><citation key="ref0"><doi>10.4337/roke.2018.01.09</doi><unstructured_citation>Drakopoulos, S.
