It is a well-known fact that these border synergies are perceived as very intricate processes. Consequently, research projects that focus on different variables, factors, and perspectives that could affect the success or failure of the common border projects are essential to achieve consistent regional sustainability. In fact, we believe there is a gap on the perception and implementation of some of the critical factors for territorial success in borderlands by the regional main actors. Thereby, this study through the use of exploratory tools as top-to-bottom questionnaires examines the border cooperation of eleven CBC projects (twenty-one European cities) focusing on the financial-economic theme. Besides, the research permits us to recognize and isolate the two main decisive factors to consider from a financial-economic: (i) Strong territorial strategy; (ii) Access to European funds. Moreover, this study shows that the CBC could be used as a catalyst for creating job opportunities in these regions.
<publication_date media_type="online"><month>1</month><day>3</day><year>2022</year></publication_date><publication_date media_type="print"><month>1</month><day>3</day><year>2022</year></publication_date><pages><first_page>23</first_page><last_page>29</last_page></pages><publisher_item><item_number item_number_type="article_number">3</item_number></publisher_item><ai:program xmlns:ai="http://www.crossref.org/AccessIndicators.xsd" name="AccessIndicators"><ai:free_to_read start_date="2022-01-03"/><ai:license_ref applies_to="am" start_date="2022-01-03">https://wseas.com/journals/bae/2022/a065107-003(2022).pdf</ai:license_ref></ai:program><archive_locations><archive name="Portico"/></archive_locations><doi_data><doi>10.37394/23207.2022.19.3</doi><resource>https://wseas.com/journals/bae/2022/a065107-003(2022).pdf</resource></doi_data><citation_list><citation key="ref0"><doi>10.33776/erebea.v10i0.5072</doi><unstructured_citation>Castanho, R.A., Couto, G., Pimentel, C., Carvalho, C., Áurea, S., Batista, M., and Naranjo Gómez, J.M..
